My Mailbox Isn’t a Mailbox Anymore
Real Estate Marketing Terrorists Take Aim at Homeowners
I have a special disdain reserved for real estate brokers and prospecting flippers — that relentless barrage of postcards, emails, and now AI-generated “personalized” messages that arrive with the persistence of seasonal allergies where the climate change has extended the seasons to 8 months of the year.
Every day brings a fresh avalanche of glossy cardstock featuring agents with arms crossed and unnaturally white teeth, promising they have “buyers waiting” for my home.
What a coincidence!
They’ve had buyers waiting since 2018, through market crashes, pandemics, and interest rate spikes. These must be the most patient buyers in human history.
One postcard recently informed me that my “dream price” awaits. My actual dream isn’t about real estate at all — it involves a hammock, a beach, and the complete absence of anyone asking me if I’ve “thought about downsizing.”
The Digital Deluge
Then there’s the email onslaught.
As a marketer myself, I respect a good subject line. “Your Home + My Expertise = $$” is not one.
